Discover more about us and our commitment to civic engagement, community assistance, and cultural programs. We also provide emergency support through initiatives like the Gloucester Fund.
The Gloucester Fund Inc. is dedicated to promoting civic engagement, cultural programs, educational initiatives, athletic activities, and community assistance for the benefit of the citizens of Gloucester, Massachusetts. Its motto is 'partnering with the community to benefit the community' by providing emergency support when needed.
We supported civic engagement through a local program service accomplishment that secured the historic home of Gloucester sculptor Paul Manship for an artist residency program and cultural center. Additionally, we provided community assistance by installing solar lighting and supporting ongoing maintenance at the Gloucester dog park, restoring the city's bronze memorial plaques, and advocating for environmental initiatives in the Wheeler's Point neighborhood, all facilitated by the Gloucester Fund.
We offer emergency support to families in crisis, including community assistance for a city resident who was severely injured in an accident. The Gloucester Fund provided cash assistance to victims of the fire, demonstrating our commitment to civic engagement and cultural programs that uplift our community.
In recent years, we have actively promoted civic engagement through various city-wide cultural programs and community assistance initiatives. These events include concerts, July 4th and Labor Day fireworks displays, the Fishtown Horribles Parade, a kids' Halloween festival, a holiday historic area walk, and the Santa Parade. Additionally, we have provided scholarships to local high school students, reinforcing our commitment to community support.
We also extend our community assistance to deployed troops by sending care packages and letters from home, along with efforts to restore war memorials throughout the city. Moreover, we supported a World War II veterans photography project and various Eagle Scout projects, showcasing our dedication to honoring those who served. All these efforts are part of the Gloucester Fund, aimed at enhancing the quality of life in our community.
